Reminders
The We Scare Hunger food drive is on now.  Bring in non-perishable food donations.

X-Dance is next week.  If you haven't done so yet, please check schoolcashonline for payment details.

English
Students are reading a short story of their choice and completing some tasks (story map, vocabulary log, response questions).  They'll be meeting with other students on Friday to discuss the story.  All work is due Friday.

Students are also writing a news article this week.  I've asked them to come to class tomorrow with a draft of their article for revising and editing.  The article can be on the Terry Fox Walk, the Ice Dump Challenge, or another news worthy event that they experienced.

Math
Tomorrow we begin our multiplication and division unit.  This year the students will use mental math, estimation, and other strategies to multiply and divide 4 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers.

Science
Students are working on an inquiry project on an Ontario pollinator.  They are making jot notes (due by the end of class tomorrow), creating a Google slideshow, giving a presentation, and making a diorama.  They were asked to bring in materials for their diorama so they can make it in class.

Social Studies
Students were asked to interview a family member who immigrated to Canada about their experience.

Yes, they're busy right now!
