Today we discussed the response questions for "Click Clack the Rattle Bag."

Creative writing task (due Tuesday, November 3rd)

Math

Today both grades were learning about spreadsheets (Google sheets).  They entered data, created formulas for calculating sums and mean (average).  Grade 7 Nelson textbook, p. 94-95, #6 only.

Science

Unit test (both grades) on Monday, November 2.

Summative project (both grades) due next Friday, November 6.

Social Studies/History

6 - Today we watched a video on the immigration experiences of Eastern European cultures to Canada.  Students took notes on an organizer.

7 - Finished watching a video on the Battle of the Plains of Abraham (Battle of Quebec).  Students answered some questions (see Google Classroom).

Reminders

Students are allowed to dress up on Friday, but they still need to wear a face mask.  

Friday afternoon we are going to watch a movie in class.  Students are allowed to bring a personal snack for the movie if they wish.  Unfortunately we cannot share snacks/treats this year.

6 - Immigration videos.  We'll continue watching the videos next time.

7 - The Seven Years War.  Students are watching "Battle for a Continent" video.  Go to Curio.ca and search for "Battle for a Continent."  Questions are in Google Classroom.  We'll finish tomorrow.

Science

Test (both grades) on Monday.  Study guide is in Google Classroom.  We'll do a whole class study session on Friday morning.

6 - Media Influences on Food Choices.  Students learned about strategies the media uses to influence food choices.  Students looked at food ads for examples of these strategies.

6 - Canadian Identity.  We looked at the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and students made their own charter based on what they felt are the most important rights.  After students chose a prominent Canadian who was influential in fighting for rights and freedoms in Canada.

7 - What Shaped Canadien Culture?  See Google Classroom.
