English
1) Read for 20 minutes
2) Reading Letter (if you wrote one last week, you do not have to do one for this week)
3) Spelling Lesson #23 (show me work by Thursday, test on Friday)
Math
1) Today we learned how to calculate the volume of a triangular prism. The formula is (the area of the base) x (the height of the prism).
p. 364 #1-5 for practice.
Science
1) Test next Monday. You need to know the following...
- the properties of air (know an experiment that proves two or three of them)
- the four forces of flight (thrust, drag, lift, gravity)
- the unbalanced forces (pitch, roll, and yaw) and the parts of a plane that control them (elevators, ailerons, and rudder)
- Bernoulli's Principle
- ways we can alter the four forces of flight (e.g., the force of gravity can be altered by using lightweight materials; different types of engines produce more/less thrust)
2) Airshow (next Wednesday)
